The purpose of this position is to support the National Credit Manager to manage the Retail debtors\u2019 function by implementing and managing processes and controls to ensure the Group\u2019s credit risk is managed, within defined parameters of Delegation of Authority, including new and existing accounts. Also, responsible to assess risk and only open accounts that meet the risk criteria of Motus.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li>Grade 12<\/li>\n<li>Relevant certificate\/diploma would be advantageous.<\/li>\n<li>Basic accounting procedures<\/li>\n<li>Competent in MS Office, databases and accounting software<\/li>\n<li>Accuracy and attention to detail<\/li>\n<li>Aptitude for numbers<\/li>\n<li>Well organized<\/li>\n<li>Customer orientated.<\/li>\n<li>Honest and trustworthy<\/li>\n<li>Clear ITC and criminal record<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Performance Indicators include, but not limited to.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>CREDIT CONTROL<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li>Ensure the Group\u2019s bad debt provision is calculated and booked monthly in line with the Motus policy. Manage overdue debtors (legal accounts); ensuring bad debt provision is managed within acceptable parameters and are recovered with the aid of a reputable service provider.<\/li>\n<li>Performs specific tasks associated with the monitoring of customer accounts and the recovery of outstanding amounts, by<\/li>\n<li>Preparing documentation and records for handover to activate legal proceedings and collection.<\/li>\n<li>Documenting payment term arrangements as agreed to with the customer and\/ or executing write off sequences for unrecoverable debts upon approval. In order to ensure outstanding amounts are identified and specific sequences activated to facilitate recovery.<\/li>\n<li>Provide back up support in absence of other controllers.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain arrear debtors within 2% of the total debtors allocation of the controller<\/li>\n<li>Manage the credit controllers daily and ensures that all the cash that is received, is banked and allocated.<\/li>\n<li>Follow up for unmatched values still on the bank statement.<\/li>\n<li>Resolve issues with customers, escalates to NCM and ensures the age analysis is worked on across all branches.<\/li>\n<li>Check that new customer accounts are within DOA and oversee this process of opening new accounts for values exceeding their DOA.<\/li>\n<li>Open all accounts that meet the criteria for risk for Motus regardless of value.<\/li>\n<li>Oversee the legal process and manage the collections.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>STAFF DEVELOPMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li>Ensuring regular check in with staff are held to confirm their direction and input is in line \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0with company strategy and maintenance of debtors book<\/li>\n<li>Ensure regular training conducted to keep staff up to date and motivated<\/li>\n<li>Ensure performance appraisals conducted twice yearly<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>ENQUIRIES\/ CORRESPONDENCE AND GENERAL SUPPORT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Provides support with respect to specific activities\/ requirements associated with the functionality, by<\/p>\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li>Attending to specific correspondence\/ telephonic enquiries, communicating and providing routine\u00a0 \u00a0 information and\/ or referring queries<\/li>\n<li>Receiving and preparing mail for postage, batching to sizes and\/ or inserting special delivery instructions and submitting weekly status updates on all debtors allocated to the controller.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.careers24.com\/login\/?returnurl=\/jobs\/apply\/2072125\"><strong>Click Here!<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:<\/strong> October 13 2023<\/p>\n<p><strong>Equity Statement<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At Motus we are committed to Employment Equity when recruiting internally and externally.
