Our people are the most important assets, we take care of them so they can take care of you.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Exploration Geologist<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong> Rustenburg<br \/>\n<strong>Salary:<\/strong>\u00a0Market Related<br \/>\n<strong>Job Type:<\/strong> Permanent<br \/>\n<strong>Sectors:<\/strong>\u00a0Mining<br \/>\n<strong>Reference:<\/strong> EG1023<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Vacancy Details<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li>Bachelor of Science Honours Degree (NQF8) in Geology<\/li>\n<li>Advanced Degree in Geology with a specialisation in mineralogy, petrology, or economic geology.<\/li>\n<li>Member of professional body (SACNASP)<\/li>\n<li>Able to qualify as a Competent Person in a commodity.<\/li>\n<li>A minimum of 15-20 years of experience in an exploration and\/or mining environment, of which at least three (3) years at a Senior Management level.<\/li>\n<li>Working knowledge of geological software (e.g., ArcGIS, MicroMine, Leapfrog, Surpac, Datamine, Sable etc.) and project peer review.<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in MS Office<\/li>\n<li>Resource Modelling and Estimation experience with emphasis on Chrome and PGEs.<\/li>\n<li>International geological experience is advantageous<\/li>\n<li>Must be medically fit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Candidate Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our client in the mining industry is looking for an Exploration Geologist who has at least 15 years of experience in mining and 3 years in a senior management level. Duties will include but not be limited to the following:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Continuous Improvement<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li>Develop and deliver robust procedures, processes, systems and capabilities in the resource evaluation domain to support the workflow of resource evaluation.<\/li>\n<li>Identify and disperse best practice to enable the development and implementation of plans for the improvement of current systems.<\/li>\n<li>Recommend and implement technology improvements to sustain improved performance in the resource evaluation domain.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Exploration Geology<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li>Perform detailed geological data review, by analysing geographic locations, environment and economic factors in search of natural resources, to determine prospective targets.<\/li>\n<li>Perform geological, structural and regolith mapping to collect data on rock formations, minerology and structural characteristics.O<\/li>\n<li>Oversee soil sampling, trenching and various forms of exploratory drilling to collect core samples for further analysis.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure adequate insertion of Quality Assurance\/Quality Control (QAQC) samples that enable the performance of geological interpretation.<\/li>\n<li>Compile and analyse exploration data to create detailed geological models for Mineral Resource Estimation and recommend appropriate follow up programs that are able to find minable commodities.<\/li>\n<li>Integrate and optimise periodical mining models for grade control, reserves and resources.<\/li>\n<li>Develop detailed Grade Control Models and Resource Models for the mine, projects and scenario evaluation, to provide a predictive view of the distribution, quality and quantity of mineral resources.<\/li>\n<li>Validate data for the resource evaluation process, by checking the accuracy and appropriateness of the results at each modelling stage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Financial Monitoring and Control<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li>Prepare budgets and monitor expenditure against budget allocations to complete projects on budget and within planned time frames.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Reconciliation<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li>Develop reconciliation classification and techniques from mineral resource, ore reserve, grade control model and metallurgy recoveries models, to manage variance between planned and actual estimated results.<\/li>\n<li>Develop and understand the reconciliation factors to determine the ability of mining operations to produce the tonnage, grade and contained metal that as per the estimations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Reporting<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li>Provide quality technical advice, including the review of major plans and proposals, by drafting comprehensive reports for review by senior management and regulatory agencies, to communicate the potential risks, benefits and uncertainties associated with different mining prospects.<\/li>\n<li>Compile Mineral Resource Statements annually, as well as Competent Person\u2019s report and supporting documentation, to ensure compliance with relevant reporting codes and standards.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Resource Management<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li>Request and allocate required assets and\/or resources for the fulfilment of work objectives to guarantee quality outputs.<\/li>\n<li>Provide staff with day-to-day direction and tasks aligned with Departmental procedures, to enable the usage of less resources more efficiently.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Stakeholder Relations<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li>Communicate and liaise across the relevant Departments by engaging with the appropriate stakeholders to ensure all stakeholders remain abreast of Departmental objectives.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.careers24.com\/login\/?returnurl=\/jobs\/apply\/2072968\"><strong>Click Here!<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:<\/strong> October 20 2023<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lusapho Professional Services has highly skilled set of talents that are built on referral and successful partnerships.
