Its vision is to be an innovative revenue and customs agency that enhances economic growth and social development, and supports South Africa&#8217;s integration into the global economy in a way that benefits all citizens.<\/p>\n<p>In accordance with the South African Revenue Service Act 34 of 1997, the service is an administratively autonomous organ of the state: it is outside the public service, but within the public administration. So although South Africa&#8217;s tax regime is set by the National Treasury, it is managed by SARS.<\/p>\n<p>SARS aims to provide an enhanced, transparent and client-orientated service to ensure optimum and equitable collection of revenue.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Reference Number <\/strong>: TPS0006<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Purpose:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To lodge all relevant claims for VAT, IT and other taxes to collect all dividends allocated to<\/p>\n<p>SARS in the Estates Department<\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Contacting Trustees, liquidators and the master\u2019s office (sms, letter, email etc.)<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Ensuring that the claims against all estates are lodged in time.<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 To collect all dividends allocated to SARS, as well as VAT on assets sold and post<\/p>\n<p>liquidation income.<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 To scrutinize all L&amp; D accounts.<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Issue summonses where applicable.<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Prepare, submit and present cases with all supporting evidence and\/or reasons to the<\/p>\n<p>write off committees for approval.<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Assist clients in their estates queries.<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Deal with offers of compromise.<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Follow-up on Liquidation and Distribution Accounts.<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Investigate the possibility of holding directors\/member liable for VAT and PAYE collected<\/p>\n<p>by the company or close corporation on behalf of SARS.<\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Knowledge &amp; Skills:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Client friendly and communication orientated<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Creative and analytical thinker<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Ability to analyse documents, financials, reports and draw conclusions.<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Ability to interpret the different acts.<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Effective\/ efficient and professional conduct in carrying out responsibilities.<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Be able to work in a Team<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Administration skills<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Document data control skills<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Analytical skills<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Knowledge of all SARS systems applicable to area of work<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Problem solving skills<\/p>\n<p><strong>Education &amp; Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Matric<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 An Appropriate Higher Diploma will also be acceptable<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Knowledge and\/ or experience of respective area of work is recommended<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 At least 2-5 years experience in debt collection preferably in an estates environment<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Thorough knowledge of the Income Tax Act, Companies Act, Close Corporation Act<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Value Added Tax Act , Estate Duty Act, Administration of the Estate Act and Insolvency<\/p>\n<p>Act.<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Functional experience in taxes and core operating systems.<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Any other qualification relevant to insolvency and administration of deceased estates<\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Employment Equity<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Employment Equity policy of SARS will be considered as part of the recruitment and<\/p>\n<p>selection process.
