The Learnerships offer\u00a0 training in Fitting, Electrical, Instrumentation or Welding NQF Level 2<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Duties &amp; Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Health Safety &amp; Environment awareness<\/li>\n<li>Process Plant &amp; Equipment Maintenance<\/li>\n<li>Engage in own training and personal development<\/li>\n<li>Performs plant and equipment maintenance, shutdown and turnaround activities.<\/li>\n<li>Routine Maintenance of Refinery Equipment<\/li>\n<li>Breakdown repairs to Refinery equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Acquire valid relevant certificate of competencies of training received.<\/li>\n<li>Acquire knowledge and skills of Artisan in your designated trade<\/li>\n<li>Adherence to Health, Safety and Environmental procedures, work instructions, guidelines, regulations \/ legislation and programs &amp; proactive action to identify and correct potential unsafe conditions and acts<\/li>\n<li>Exhibits understanding of company business.<\/li>\n<li>Effective written and verbal communication etiquette between individuals, area teams, refinery and customers.<\/li>\n<li>Work effectively with others to successfully complete maintenance activities and objectives<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Education &amp; Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Matric certificate with a pass in Mathematics &amp; Physical Science<\/li>\n<li>Must be under 24 years of age<\/li>\n<li>Code 8 Driver\u2019s Licence will be an added advantage<\/li>\n<li>An N2 in the selected trade would be an added advantage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Skills, Knowledge &amp; Attributes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Skills<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Working safely in a hazardous environment.<\/li>\n<li>Communication.<\/li>\n<li>Teamwork<\/li>\n<li>Implementation.<\/li>\n<li>Problem solving and trouble shooting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Knowledge<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Basic refinery economics and business knowledge<\/li>\n<li>An interest in maintenance type activities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Attributes<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work indoor and outdoor at all weather conditions.<\/li>\n<li>Require fitness and strength to climb up ladders, staircase and platform through various operating equipment from different levels and areas.<\/li>\n<li>Responding and handling emergencies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.engen.drm-za.com\/scb\/details_Page.asp?ProductID=806\" target=\"_blank\">Apply Online<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Equity Statement<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The appointment will be made in line with Engen\u2019s Employment Equity Strategy.<\/p>\n<p><em>General:<\/em><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>If not submitted by the closing date, your application will automatically not be considered.<\/li>\n<li>Engen reserves the right not to make an appointment.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Key Purpose Offering a great Learnership opportunity to hardworking candidates with a basic\u00a0 understanding of Engen and refinery processes and products, Safety in industry and the\u00a0 Environment.
