{"id":94476,"date":"2024-03-22T11:31:31","date_gmt":"2024-03-22T09:31:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=94476"},"modified":"2024-03-25T00:32:13","modified_gmt":"2024-03-24T22:32:13","slug":"defy-appliances-limited-current-job-opportunity-apply-now-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/defy-appliances-limited-current-job-opportunity-apply-now-3.html","title":{"rendered":"Defy Appliances Limited Current Job Opportunity &#8211; Apply Now!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Defy Appliances\u00a0is a South African manufacturing company and is the largest manufacturer and distributor of major domestic appliances in\u00a0southern Africa.\u00a0The company manufactures and develops a range of large appliances from\u00a0gas stoves,\u00a0refrigerators,\u00a0washing machines\u00a0and\u00a0tumble dryers\u00a0to continuous clean ovens and\u00a0convection ovens.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Stores Supervisor<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong> Durban<br \/>\n<strong>Salary:<\/strong>\u00a0Market Related<br \/>\n<strong>Job Type:<\/strong> Permanent<br \/>\n<strong>Sectors:<\/strong> Manufacturing, Procurement<br \/>\n<strong>Reference:<\/strong> 86036<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Vacancy Details<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>PURPOSE OF THE JOB:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the storeroom facility, ensuring efficient receipt, storage, and distributing of material and product<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li>Grade 12<\/li>\n<li>Diploma in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field preferred.<\/li>\n<li>Proven experience in stores operations, inventory management, or logistics, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.<\/li>\n<li>Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with employees, management, and external stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li>Proficient computer skills, including experience with stores management systems (SAP preferable) and MS Office.<\/li>\n<li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.<\/li>\n<li>Forklift certification and knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li>Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays as required by the business<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Supervise and coordinate the activities of stores personnel, including receiving, storing, and distributing materials and products.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure accurate inventory management through regular cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation of stock levels.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in compliance with company policies and regulations.<\/li>\n<li>Develop and implement efficient workflows and standard operating procedures to optimize stores operations.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor and track inbound and outbound shipments to meet delivery deadlines and customer requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Train, mentor, and coach stores personnel to ensure high performance and productivity.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to stores team members.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement, logistics, and production, to coordinate inventory needs and resolve issues.<\/li>\n<li>Utilize stores management systems and other software tools to track inventory, generate reports, and analyze data for continuous improvement.<\/li>\n<li>Address any discrepancies or issues related to inventory, orders, or shipments in a timely and effective manner.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li>Implement and enforce health and safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>PHYSICAL REQUERIMENTS:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li>The need to stand, walk, and move around the stores facility for extended periods of time including the stamina to handle the demands of a fast-paced and physically active work environment.<\/li>\n<li>The need to lift, carry, and move heavy items, materials, or products. This may involve lifting boxes, packages, or inventory using proper lifting techniques or equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts.<\/li>\n<li>The need to handle and manipulate inventory, equipment, tools, and machinery. This requires good hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and the ability to operate various types of equipment safely and effectively.<\/li>\n<li>The need to bend, stoop, reach, and stretch to access items on shelves, racks, or storage containers.<\/li>\n<li>The need to work in environments with varying temperatures, humidity levels, and lighting conditions.<\/li>\n<li>The need to have a strong awareness of safety protocols and practices to prevent accidents, injuries, and hazards.
