The South African Weather Service (SAWS) is a provider of useful and innovative weather, climate, and related products and services. In line with the organisation’s philosophy and ethos, SAWS has generated and implemented a Quality Management System commensurate with the highest quality standards to ensure that both its products and services are fit for use by its customers, and in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2008. The Management and staff of SAWS are committed to the Vision, Mission and Values of the organisation and will actively contribute to, and support all initiatives aimed at achieving its goals and objectives.
To be the foremost provider of relevant services in respect of weather, climate and related products, which contribute to sustainable development in South Africa and the African Continent.

Advancing the science of meteorology, research and relevant applications;

in order to inform decision making and contribute to the safeguarding of life and property
