Internships in South Africa, Learnerships in South Africa

The Zurich Learnership Programme is offered in partnership with INSETA (Insurance Sector Education and Training Authority) and primarily focuses on previously disadvantaged young South Africans by creating the opportunity to gain work-related experience in the Short Term Insurance industry for 12 months. During this time the Learners are rotated through the various functions and simultaneously work towards obtaining a FETC Short Term Insurance Qualification.

Candidates should be able to speak at least 2 languages, with English as an essential language and should the candidate have passed Maths in their Grade 12 year it is regarded as an advantage.

As part of the learning component, candidates also have the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and skills around technical insurance, insurance systems and attend sessions, which focus on behavioural and leadership competencies.

As support, the Learners are also guided, coached and mentored by Zurich managers. Zurich regards the Learnership Programme as a key economic and social enabler as it benefits the candidate, society and the insurance industry as a whole.

Successful candidates receive full accreditation of the FETC Short Term Insurance Qualification at level 4 and are FAIS compliant. The 2014 Zurich Learnership Programme will be run in Johannesburg and Durban.
