Minimum Education Requirements: Metaliferous mining blasting certificate or Rock Breaking Certificate
Additional Education Requirements: Grade or equivalent NQF qualification will be advantageous, Competent “A” Person Certificate will be advantageous
Years of Experience: 5-7 years
Skills Required:
Good SHE knowledge
Mining logistics knowledge
Sound knowledge and application of basic mining principles and leading industry practices
Good understanding of the Mining Cycle
Enforce a Culture of Zero Harm

Position Summary:
The MINER is responsible for the opening up of ore reserves
through face blasting.

 
At least of 5 years mining production experience (conventional)

Underground crew coordination

Mining operation (production)

 
Job Requirements:
Ensures the crew adheres to required PPE
Participate in required SHE meetings
Conducts accidents and incidents investigations and implement necessary precautions to avoid re-occurrence
Ensuring compliance to Mine Standards and Procedures
Reporting of anomalies related to Safe Production
Communicate the daily mining plans to the crew
Allocation of responsibilities to the crew
Provision of required support to the crew when necessary
Daily conducts re-entry examinations
Conducts risk assessments
Marking off of support
Identifying of reef band and mark the face as per the geological reports
Charging up of the face and safe blasting
Planning and co ordination of Mining Activities in line with targets and objectives
