Our client based in Johannesburg (major telecom) – hybrid / relaxed working model is looking for a BI Hybrid Support Analyst.
You will be responsible for investigating and diagnosing the issues with intent to recommend and implement solutions.
This role would be expected to use BI and skills to improve processes to increase service and support to the departments and the organization.
The client requires the services of an operational service desk team to field Business Intelligence tickets logged against the area.
This Service desk provides first line and second line support, addressing the queries in the shortest possible time.
The nature of these tickets could include, but are not limited to:
Requests for information
Data mart fixes
Reconciliations requested by business
Job Title: BI Hybrid Support Analyst -ETL, SQL, Power BI
Location: JHB – Northern Suburbs
Duties & Responsibilities:
In order to be considered the following is required:
Bachelors’ Degree in computer science, MIS, or Information Management
OR any BI Accreditation
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in similar role environment including scripting, reporting & data visualization
Highly proficient in SQL
Experience in Power BI and OBIEE
Telecommunications experience is a plus
Worked in environments with large data volumes
Experience in Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (SASS) would be advantageous
Knowledge of industry leading Business Intelligence support practices
Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to business intelligence
Knowledge of data related government regulatory requirements (where applicable) and emerging trends and issues
Knowledge of Agile Project Management Framework
The role will be responsible for the following:
Be the single point of contact for business intelligence related queries to the business
Using the appropriate techniques in engaging with the business to clarify the problem
Provide guidance and assistance to end user queries
Troubleshoot reporting issues on Power BI/OBIEE reports or SSAS cubes raised by end users and implement solutions to these issues where applicable
Troubleshoot data issues from the business source systems and provide guidance and/or present solutions to these issues
Performs root cause analysis and collaborates with data stakeholders to identify and understand factors that contribute to data quality issues
Collaborate with other teams within the department and be able to devise the technical solution as it relates to the business & technical requirements
Coordinates with the appropriate internal and external stakeholders in the correction of source data where applicable
Seek feedback from clients/ stakeholders and continuously seek ways of improving on quality
Create ad-hoc reports/data extracts from organization database
Identify areas where the quality of reporting and analytics may be improved
Interpret data, analyse results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
Identify databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
Filter and “clean” data by reviewing reports and performance indicators to locate and identify/fix code problems
Define new data collection and analysis process improvement opportunities
