City Council Bursaries
Town Council of Ermelo Bursary

Who can apply: The Ermelo Town Council only provides study loans on the following pre-determined conditions:
a) Only residents of Ermelo studying at any SA technikon may apply for study loans. PLEASE NOTE: Applicants from outside the Ermelo municipal area will not be considered.
b) Should a student complete his/her studies with the help of a study loan from the Ermelo Town Council, his/her debt will be remitted provided that he/she accepts a position with the Ermelo Town Council for a period equal to the period of study, should a suitable vacancy exist.

City Council of Germiston Bursary Scheme

Who can apply: Any SA citizen residing within the area of jurisdiction of the Greater Germiston, who is able to gain entrance to any recognised tertiary educational institution is considered for the allocation of a bursary.
PLEASE NOTE: Applicants from outside the Greater Germiston municipal area will not be considered. Study bursaries are intended for pre-graduate studies only. Children of Council employees are considered for the allocation of a bursary irrespective of their being resident within the area of jurisdiction of Greater Germiston or not, but will, however, be subjected to the fulfilment of the rest of the bursary conditions.
NB. NO application towards postgraduate studies will be considered. No application whereby the applicant intends to study extra-murally or by means of correspondence will be considered.

Who can apply: The Minimum educational requirement for candidates shall be the Matriculation Certificate or equivalent. Scholarships A and B open to all students, tenable at the Cape and Peninsula technikons from whom particulars of the courses which may be taken can be obtained. Only academic merit shall be taken into consideration but, all things being equal, students who have attended the Maitland High School shall receive preference insofar as Scholarship A is concerned. Award open to persons resident in the Western Cape. Preference given to candidates most in need of pecuniary assistance, subject to a sufficiently high standard of character and ability.
