Vacancy Details

The applicant should have a suitable tertiary degree or similar qualification with a focus on marketing; finance or business management. The applicant should further have suitable experience in commercial sales with a preference for financial services products. The Sales Consultant will be required to oversee the introduction and conclusion of Debtsource services to potential new clients that are derived from telephonic cold-calling; call-ins and referrals. Existing customers are managed by specific Customer Relationship Managers and therefore the candidate is usually only involved with a new client for an initial take-on period. The applicant should have reliable own transport.

Candidates who have completed formal sales training courses; are registered as a Representative with the Financial Services Board (having completed the FAIS RE 5 exam); or have completed credit management courses will have an advantage.

The position is available from the 1st September 2023, but allowances will be made for applicants who require resignation periods. Training will be provided with particular focus on Debtsource specific products and services. Applicants should further have knowledge in Office 365 systems with focus on Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel as well as SharePoint. The candidate will report to the Head Of Department Sales of Debtsource.

Candidate Requirements

The employee duties shall include, but not necessarily be limited to:

• Contacting potential customers for Debtsource and scheduling meetings to discuss the Debtsource solutions.
• Manage proposals for potential customers and ensure effective presentation of these.
• Network via as many channels possible to source interested new potential customers.
• Maintain their proposal register to reflect all pending, accepted and declined proposals and effectively ensure follow up on pending proposals.
• Maintain and manage the sales database to ensure maximum data efficiency.
• Attend weekly sales meetings to discuss progress and provide feedback.
• Do database searches to establish industry and geographic links between companies and contact new prospective customers and provide these as leads to the team.
• Obtain referrals from satisfied customers, or from prospective clients that have declined a proposal.
• Effectively ensure follow up on such referrals to establish interest.
• Provide regular feedback to the Debtsource management.
• Look for new opportunities in service offering expansions and present these to management.
• Manage a Sales budget.
• Conduct bi-annual performance appraisals
