Dis-Chem Pharmacies has an opportunity available  for a Trainee Cosmetics Manager for their Hemingways store. The purpose of this position is to manage the Cosmetics and Beauty category within Dis-Chem stores. Effective promoting and selling of Dis-Chem cosmetic and beauty products through excellent and consistent customer service. Ensure staffs on floor assist customers.

 

Minimum Requirements:

Essential:

  • Grade 12 – Matric or a Senior Certificate
  • 3 Years Cosmetics or Beauty Experience within Retail environment

Job Description:

  • Direct and support sales staff under the guidance of the Store Manager and in accordance with the Dis-Chem policies, procedures and retail working practices.
  • Ensure that employees in the department adhere to Dis-Chem policies and procedures.
  • Discipline and council employees in the department, with the Store Manager`s assistance, when needed.
  • Perform general Human Resource duties, including but not limited to, administrating leave, sick leave, time schedule, and KRONOS.
  • Ensure that Cosmetic Consultants are allocated to the correct and relevant cosmetic and beauty house.
  • Employees in the department must receive relevant training.
  • Manage and encourage feedback from training.
  • Manage the employees in the department’s performance through the Dis-Chem Performance Management System.
  • The store must be adequately staffed at all times and establish an appropriate work roster for employees in the department.
  • Manage all in-store promoters according to Dis-Chem Policies and Procedures.
  • Inform the Payroll department of all employee changes, which includes but are not limited to terminations, leave, disciplinary action and employment.
  • Inform Category Managers of all changes relating to cosmetic houses, maternity leave and resignations or terminations.
  • All employees must wear uniform according to the Dis-Chem uniform policy.
  • Ensure personal and subordinates hygiene and presentation according to Dis-Chem standards.
  • Maintain absolute confidentiality concerning all company and customer information.
  • Be accountable and manage stock control and/or flow through effective planning and ordering of stock in collaboration with Dis-Chems Distribution Centre and suppliers.
  • Adhere to Dis-Chem’s stock policies and procedures and don’t delegate ordering of stock to Cosmetic Consultants.
  • Ensure that all Cosmetic and Beauty administration procedures are followed, including but not limited to weekly returns, sales records, and employee and promotion records.
  • Be responsible and accountable for your designated stock in stock room and on the sales floor.
  • Adhere to Dis-Chem security policies and procedures, regarding stock and customer payments at the cosmetics cashier counter.
  • Adhere to policies regarding store allocations from suppliers and Dis-Chem allocation for individual employees.
  • Manage and deal with customer compliments and complaints.
  • Escalate serious and unresolved customer complaints to the Store Manager or Regional Cosmetic Manager.
  • Serve customers and implement a high standard of customer care and service
  • Investigate and solve all customer queries effectively and in time
  • Promote problem solving within team to improve customer service
  • Ensure that a Cosmetic Cashier and a Cosmetic Consultant is always visible in the Cosmetic Department.
  • All beauty and fragrance related products including returns by customers should go through the Cosmetic Manager or the department`s second in charge when Cosmetic Manager is away.
  • Report injury on duty and customer accidents to the Store Manager and Head Office according to standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness, and ensure merchandise and displays are maintained in both the window area and throughout the store.
  • Manage merchandise by ensuring displays are presented in an attractive manner.
  • All goods must be correctly priced and labelled.
  • Adhere to stock layout principles, at all times.
  • Merchandising displays in the cosmetic and beauty area must be faced up and stocked.
  • Manage and ensure that the correct shelf price talkers are displayed.
  • Maximise store income and achieve department, brand and vendor targets.
  • Monthly promotions must be executed to maximise sales.
  • Be accountable for all employees in the department (cosmetic, beauty and fragrances) and ensure they are aware of current beauty promotions and non-beauty promotions, which includes but are not limited to display’s and signage.
  • Adhere to Head Office implementations.
  • Keep updated with in-depth knowledge regarding products, brands and the retail industry.
  • Ensure that the Cosmetic and Salon Department accurately book salon appointments.
