Job Title: Driver
Location: Gamsberg, Northern Cape, South Africa

Job Summary:

• To provide a service to the site in all transportation matters as well as general housing keeping .

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operational:

• Assist with transporting employees for training or meetings when required

• Support the operation by driving to and from various locations

• Collection of items when requested by the site

• Loading and Offloading of goods

• All driving for operational needs during the shift

Governance:

• Complete the required safety documentation

• Daily inspection of the company vehicle allocated to him/her

• Reporting of all deviations or defects to immediate superior

• Good management and housekeeping of company property

• Adhere to FA policies and procedures regarding fleet management and obey all rules of South African roads and regulations

•Comply with FA and the Client’s safety regulations and all other related policies

Reporting, Recording and/or Review:

• Daily completion of travelled Kilometers on logbook and checklist

• Ensure accurate records of all travelled Kilometers , toll slips, petrol/diesel slips are kept on daily basis for submission to the Site Administrator

•Keep all proof of company expenses for any business transaction

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Grade 12/ Matric

• Code 10 drivers license with PDP permit

• Any certificate or qualification in logistics or transportation will be advantageous

EXPERIENCE:

• At least 3 years minimum experience as a driver

•Familiarity with mining industry will be advantageous

SKILLS, QUALITIES and ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Must be able to communicate in English and Afrikaans

• Be able to take instructions

• Be able to work under pressure

• Sense of urgency, Energetic, positive attitude and a team player

• Ability to build relationships with staff and company clients

•Must be willing to work extended hours

• Must be willing to travel extensively even outside SA if required

• Must be honest and trustworthy

•Must be able to work unsupervised and independently

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Medically fit
