Oversee and manage the accounting function at a company dealing with the mines. (Steelpoort)

 

Qualifications and experience:

• BCom with articles.
• Management of staff.
• Administrative experience, systems driven, controls identification and implementation.
• Minimum of three years accounting and/or auditing experience.
• Technical and mining industry experience and exposure to Manufacturing will be advantageous.
• IT Orientated, automated systems and management reporting experience.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• The ability to prioritise and plan own workloads with a systematic work method and high attention to detail, in order to meet all reporting deadlines.

Duties:

• Responsible for all administrative functions in the Steelpoort, Lydenburg and Palabora area.  Will have staff of 4 to oversee.
• Will be required to travel and may have to stay over.
• Overview of Accounting processing and reconciliation of control accounts.
• Continue to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the accounting processes by identifying and implementing areas for development.
• Design and prepare ad hoc reports and analysis as required by management.
• Responsibility for managing risk within the accounting function, by reviewing processes and ensuring that adequate controls are in place to mitigate risk.
• Monitoring the control environment & culture to ensure that controls are effective and efficient.
