JOB DESCRIPTION: The successful candidate will be responsible for maintenance and repair of Trackless Mobile
Machinery and equipment in accordance with sound engineering practices and equipment specifications
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Investigate, diagnose and perform trade related maintenance and repairs to equipment and machinery according
to the maintenance requirements.
Perform inspections in accordance with the Mine Health & Safety Act regulations, manufacturing and company
standards.
Report all defects and breakdowns on equipment and machinery to the foreman
Identify spares requirements for machinery and equipment and order according to departmental procedure
Complete maintenance job cards
Maintain a good relationship with operational personnel
Assign corrective measures and follow-up on outstanding/overdue actions
Minimum Requirements:
Standard 10/Grade 12, NATED 3/NCV Level 3
Diesel Mechanic Trade Test obtained through a recognized / accredited institution, preferably MQA or MIETTB (Mining Industry Engineering Trade Testing Board)
Code EB (08) driver’s license
Code 14 driver’s license will be to your advantage
3 to 4 years post apprentice experience
Knowledge and experience on electrical/electronic systems
Knowledge and experience on hydraulic/diesel systems – ideally in the drilling mining/heavy duty earthmoving arena will be to your advantage.
Other Skills/Competencies:
Independent, proactive thinker and have the ability to do own job planning
Knowledge of relevant legislation
Good written and verbal communication skills in English
Meticulous in following equipment specifications
