Rise Against Hunger Available Job Opportunity

Through Rise Against Hunger Philippines’ Farm to Fork initiative, the organisation is implementing contract farming, which involves the hiring of small-scale indigenous farmers to provide vegetables for use in Rise Against Hunger meals. With this strategy in place, farmers grow food to support their families, and excess harvest is consolidated and sold at fair market prices to the Negrese Volunteers for Change Foundation, which then dehydrates the vegetables for Rise Against Hunger’s meals.

Job Title:  Events, Warehouse and Marketing Coordinator

Job Location: Cape Town.

Remuneration: The salary will be commensurate with a position of this nature

This is a fulltime position

Responsibilities:

• Public speaking and coordinating groups of people
• Plan, set-up and execute Meal Packing Events
• Assist Branch Manager in seeking new leads for Meal Packing Events
• Compile proposals for possible Donors
• Maintain relationships with Donors and complete all related documentation regarding events such as MOU’s, Event Schedules, post event documentation
• Maintain stock control and stock levels within the warehouse
• Maintain and ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to
• Market and promote RAH activities and Impact
• Communication regarding upcoming events and donor information to Branch Manager and National office

Requirements: 

• Code 8 drivers licence and be willing to obtain a Code 10 truck licence
• Computer literate in Microsoft Office and Google Docs
• Matric Certificate (Grade 12) minimum
• Previous public speaking experience with the ability to address large crowds
• Ability to work under pressure and meet timelines and targets
• Minimum years’ previous work experience with a good track record
• Effective communication skills. (Written and spoken)
• The flexibility to work weekends and evenings when required
• Due to the nature of work, the candidate must the ability to pick up and carry items of at least 20kg
