Head: Quality Management: Forensic Services (At the level of Major General) (Post No 15/03/2614) Level of remuneration: Band B (SMS) = An all inclusive flexible remuneration package of R1 005 945 per annum is applicable to the post.

APPOINTMENT REQUIREMENTS: · Have a Degree or Diploma (minimum of NQF level 6) in Science, Quality Management, Environmental Health and Safety, Biomedical Science or Technology. · An applicable post graduate qualification or Masters degree in the above relevant fields, as well as extensive knowledge, relevant training and development in ISO 9001:2008, 17025:2008, ISO 170201, ISO 17021, ISO 14001, ISO 18001 may be an added advantage; · Have a minimum of five years’ experience at Senior Management level, in the field of the post; · Be fluent in at least two of the official languages, of which one must be English; · Have a valid motor vehicle drivers licence; and · Be subjected to a security clearance of Secret.

 

COMPETENCIES: Client orientation and customer focus; communication skills, decision making, financial management, managing conflict, policy formulation, people management and empowerment, planning and organising, problem solving and analysis, quality orientation service delivery innovation and development skills.

 

CORE FUNCTIONS: *Formulate and maintain national policy, directives and standards within Forensic Services, *Ensure the implementation of a Quality and Environmental Management system(s) within Forensic Services, *Provide strategic direction on Medical Surveillance, instruments, utilisation and acquisitions, *Ensure plans and processes are aligned to ISO 9001:2008, ISO 17025;2008, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 standards, *Oversee conformation to- and applying standards for information security, as prescribed by the Minimum Information Security Standards and Legislation relating the protection of information, *Ensure development facilitation towards the capacitating and empowerment of Forensic experts and personnel, *Provide technical management expertise in respect of Forensic Service equipment and instrumentation, *Ensure the implementation of the following Acts: Explosive Act, NEMA Act, Criminal Law (Forensic Procedure) Amendment Act, Act 37 of 2014 (DNA Act), COIDA Act, * Manage and utilise all resources allocated to the immediate post environment in accordance with relevant directives and legislation.
