POSITION SYNOPSIS:

The purpose of this role is to provide effective operational risk support to the SAEC Marketing function to govern market risk and enterprise risk management in compliance with SAEC Group and SAEC Marketing requirements.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Promote a culture of governance and continuous improvement of market risk and enterprise risk management activities across Marketing;

Review and provide recommendations to the relevant authority on submissions on non-standard deals and new market requests considering all aspects of price and credit risk;

Implement price risk management improvement initiatives;

Assist with periodic / ad-hoc reviews of existing limits / Performance Reference Prices / mandated instruments and validation of existing methodologies to ensure appropriateness;

Prepare and analyze daily risk reporting (mark-to-market, exposure, P&L) for exceptions and limit controls;

Provide oversight on Front Office activities to ensure alignment with Marketing strategy;

Liaise with Front Office and Commercial Services to resolve risk reporting discrepancies;

Maintain price curves and ensure accurate and timely uploads into ERP system;

Undertake price reporting to external parties in compliance with internal and external policy and guidelines;

Review incidents of price risk limit breaches and provide support in resolution of key findings.

REQUIREMENTS:

Serious contenders will have a Degree / National Diploma in Business / Commerce / Finance or related disciplines with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in market risk or related areas of which 1 year in a supervisory position;

Knowledge of commodity trading and Risk management is essential;

Foreign exchange and risk exposure is essential;

Credit risk exposure will be advantageous;

Prior experience in project, finance or commercial areas would be advantageous.
