Job Title: Assistant Consultant: Air Quality
Location: Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa

Salary: Market Related

Job Summary:

The role will be as an Assistant Consultant within the air quality team based in Durban, although working on projects nationally.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Prepare for and undertake fieldwork, inclusive of dust fallout, meteorological and particulate monitoring, passive sampling, active sampling, acoustic monitoring and water sampling
•Process and format ambient monitoring data, inclusive of meteorological, dust fallout and particulate matter
•Compile ambient air quality monitoring reports
•Compile acoustic monitoring reports
•Management and planning of fieldwork, including the completion of all health & safety requirements, both with regards to WSP requirements as well as client requirements
•Compilation of baseline assessments
•Compilation of emission inventories
•Dispersion modelling
•Compilation of Atmospheric Impact Report, Air Quality Impact Assessments and Air Quality Management Plans
•Providing assistance to the broader WSP E&E business

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

•Minimum of 1 year experience in air quality consulting
•Minimum 3-year relevant degree
•Experience in ambient monitoring and dispersion modelling

KEY COMPETENCIES AND GENERIC SKILLS:

•Knowledge of the South African environmental/air quality legislation
•Technical report writing skills including the ability to produce professional reports in fluent English
