Eaton Electric SA in Wadeville has an opening for an Engineering Manager. This person will be responsible for directing and leading all Eaton Electric SAs production engineering and product development activities and budgets. They will manage the production engineers responsible for designs in support of customer tenders and production. In addition, they will participate in establishing strategic product development needs, providing support for applications/standards issues. Drive gross profit through resources planning and product design. Proactively direct and administer the career development of direct reports and seek innovative methods for improving team performance and profitability.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: A. Directly supervise the activities of reporting Design Engineers and Design Technicians. B. Direct and manage multiple concurrent engineering projects and build the engineering structure to scale and grow with the strategy of the company. C. Develop and maintain detailed project schedules incorporating resource and financial management, milestone deliverables, and administration of PROLaunch (phase gate) process (and assessment) for the ETI product development activities in concert with the Profit Plan and Strategic Initiatives. D. Leads overall project management responsibility for all product line development projects, including coordination with all supporting functions (and regions) including, but not limited to, Applications, Quality, Manufacturing, Purchasing, IT, Sales, marketing, and third party partnership. E. Provides technical and application assistance for internal and external customers and understands drivers of customer satisfaction and strive to improve customer experiences . F. Assists in the resolution of quality and engineering errors. G. Works with internal and external customers in support of developing engineering specifications for any future product development needs. H. Provides an Eaton presence on industry technical societies and works to enhance Eaton Corporation’s visibility within the industry. I. Responsible for developing, maintaining and managing departmental and program budgets. Responsible for developing departmental standards, policies, and process improvements to improve productivity. Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and mentoring. J. Leading and directing all Quality Control activities from scheduling of work flow to ensuring safety and 5S practices throughout the test area. K. Manage, supervise and develop the Sustaining Engineering team within the Engineering organization, including performance reviews. Provides mentoring to less experienced engineers, and leads efforts to improve the effectiveness of the organization. L. Work in cross-disciplinary manner with other functions/departments (e.g., Manufacturing, Sales, Procurement, Customer Support, Suppliers, etc.) to solve business issues. M. Build talent capability and succession pipeline in the Engineering department through trainee programs and other of internal tools and programs.

Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements)
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: -Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or Electronics Engineering from an accredited institution. – Master’s Degree or Professional Engineering Qualification will be an added advantage. -Minimum of 10 years of work in Electrical Engineering, Power Conversion, and Management. -Minimum of 10 years work experience industry. -Experience of working in a unionized Manufacturing environment. -Possess the strong ability to analyze product failure issues sufficiently to drive them to root cause. -Possess sufficient understanding of Failure Modes and Effects Analysis to conduct them for new and existing product designs. -Able to demonstrate a proficiency in electrical power – principals and communications protocols.

Ability to establish collaborative relationships built on trust and commitment and develop relationships at multiple levels within customer accounts and business partners
