The EMR (Equipment Maintenance & Repairs) Team is a division of the South Africa Cluster Operations Team centrally based in Cape Town. The position offers the opportunity to be part of a dynamic 00000team, in a highly pressurized environment responding rapidly to changing business priorities. We Offer
A vacancy exists within the Operations Department of Maersk Line South Africa, based in Cape Town. The purpose of the role is to be responsible for damage cost recovery against recoverable EMR spend in South Africa.

 

Key Responsibilities
Principal Accountabilities
1.General Areas of responsibilities

a)Disputes Handling on mail with
•Commercial Desks
•Local Finance
•Global Service Centre
•Freight Forwarders
•Shippers
•Consignees

b)Daily Damage Case Evaluation in DERT (Damage Equipment Recovery Tool)
•Closing in W&T cases
•Closing of handling and old damage cases
•Determining liability of 3rd party damage cases
•Sending notice letters, follow-up & invoices

c)Data Quality Review
•Invoice quality (resulting in payment of a claim)
•Quality of cases from container depot suppliers

d)DERT System enhancement Liaison (Pilot Country)
•Assisting with reporting of bug fixing
•System Performances and reporting
•System developments and enhancements

e)Supplier Gate Inspection Performance drivers
•Damage cases reporting within 24 hrs.
•EIR (Equipment Interchange Receipts) made out correctly
•Damage photograph quality

f)Transnet Port Terminals (TPT)
•Damage estimates for Port Damages
•Centrally drive performance of recoveries for local operations execution and recovery

g)Adhoc raising of manual invoices for claims against suppliers, TPT

h)Performance Reporting and evaluation

2.Projects
•Process excellence related projects from time to time.
•Container Depot Gate Processes and performance measures
•Data quality of gate information
•Timeliness of Case creation from gate-in event
•Establish what works and doesn’t work and implement corrective measures
•Necessary travel from time to time

3.SOP’s and Standards
•Ensuring container depot compliance to Maersk Line Agreed SLA
(Service Level Agreement)
•Technical auditing of Gate processes and following related processes in container depots
•Build relationships and truly “spar” with container depot suppliers
•Training and development with container depot suppliers to ensure that SOP’s are understood and resources are in place to achieve KPI’s, elevate issues as needed.
•Best practise sharing and implementation to enhance efficiencies and recoveries, log to be kept.
•Revisiting up-dating of SLA’s and SOP’s as needed in line with Business changes.

4.Financial
•Monthly reviews of performance against targets
•Reviewing of targets quarterly in line with business/developmental changes
•SAP knowledge and access level to support own and other EMR Team Adhoc functions

 

Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate:
•Computer Literate – excel, SAP, Global Systems, DERT – (Training will be provided)
•Tertiary qualification in either electrical or mechanical engineering or related discipline
•Knowledge of refrigeration and refrigeration systems would be an advantage
•Container surveying/IICL certification would also be an added advantage
•Technical auditing skill.
