Process Safety Engineer Vacancy

Purpose

The core of this safety role is focused on capability. Management of processes safety requires competent engineers following good practice. Building process safety capability requires delivery of appropriate process safety messages to the right audiences in manner that is effective an meaningful .This role would support the description process safety competency and the means to achieving that competency .This includes liaising with process safety and capability experts to identify the appropriate content, assure the process safety technical of educational offers and align this content across the offers.

Duties & Responsibilities

•Maintaining specialist expertise that supports business and projects in understanding, assessment and active management of process safety.
•Assist with the development of the overall corporate approach to process safety, including relevant Engineering Technical Practises.
•Maintain knowledge of codes, standards and regulations relevant to process systems and process safety.
•Review process safety engineering capability deliverables from AEL Mining Services (process safety ,capability and others)and contractors.
•Work in collaboration with Managers throughout the AEL Mining Services Group
•Participate in mentoring process safety training activities
•Represent the group at industry ,regulatory, national and/or international level when requested to process safety

Required Qualification & Skills

•Expert knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements management systems and industry process standards
•Knowledge of fire and explosion consequence assessment involving use of QRA.
•Specialist Knowledge of process safety and engineering as applied to the oil and gas industry with an in depth understanding of hazard and risk analysis techniques, hazard studies, risk assessments etc.
•Essential education MEng in Chemical Engineering or equivalent
•Charted Engineer or registered professional engineer
•Job requires broad knowledge of process safety engineering in the upstream and/or down stream business
•Written and Oral fluency in English
.Practical experience in chemical field including implementation of process safety practises
•Experience in leading or participating in HAZOPs and other processing safety analysis techniques
