What are the responsibilities for the role?
Fleet support, maintenance instruction, component training and general sales support.
To support existing fleets with a view to finding solutions for obsolescence.
To support the 10M4 fleet for PRASA lending both technical and training support.
Work on maintenance structures and integration for future tenders and ultimately to be responsible for the implementation of a maintenance platform for new fleets.
Also training on existing (and any new) solutions for locomotives, example Pantographs, Vacuum circuit breakers, Auxiliary Inverters etc.
Strong focus on Maintenance Engineering, AC and DC locomotive knowledge, SIBAS control systems, drives and gearing knowledge would be recommended.
Reading Siemens drawings, analyzing and fault finding on locomotives and trains. Working with rail / trolley infrastructure projects to understand interfaces.
What do I need to Qualify for the Position?
Degree / Diploma in Engineering.
Knowledge within the Rail Industry. Specific to Class 38 Locomotive or 10M4 units. or Siemens Locomotives.
Strong component knowledge for example pantographs for training purposes.
Previous commissioning and installation knowledge would be an asset
