Job Title: Site Engineer

Job Outline:

• Delivery capacity improvement for POTN projects. Do the training to local employee and subcontractors. Enable the project teams to have better knowledge and capacity to deliver.
• Coordinate the optical fiber implementation project technical related activities of those involved  delivery preparation, Prepare survey, design, implementation and complete delivery documentation, clarify customer technical requirements, provide technical support and trouble shooting. have the technical skill to convince the customer, in order to reach the service delivery target
• Support the key tasks of region

Responsibilities:

• Planning – responsible to do their own daily planning to meet target assigned by the rollout manager. SE is required to visit each Site in build progress at least once per day
• Kick-off
  1. Approval for site access or special key.
  2. Subcontractor and client contactors’ information and schedule for Kick off, confirm with all the attendees the schedule.
  3. Documents gather technical site survey report, material bill of quantity, scope of work in contract, structure analysis report, approvals (such as Telkom Ref approval, Landlord permission) others.

      Actions on kick-off:

• Confirm planning documents and layout on site, re-check the information in the technical site survey report and drawing, if any changes occur, first keep records then feedback to site design to apply the change order and submit variation order to clients. If necessary, we need re-survey this site and need 8ta Regional Project Manager to provide an official change request to Regional manager.
• Re-confirm material bill of quantity on site, local and foreign.
• Re-confirm scope of work on site.
• Kick off meeting minutes with attendee’s signature

• Daily monitoring of sub-contractor performance.
• Subcontractor team tools check and occupational health and safety documents and personal protective equipment check.
• Daily quality control tick sheet and check.
• Subcontractor quality assurance by means of internal
• Quality check.
• Installation Management
• To oversee that Sub Contractor adhere to all installation procedures.
• To see that any material shortages on site are reported and resolved.
• To do internal Quality check on Sub Contractor’s work and ensure rectification of snags.
• Site commissioning, trouble-shooting and clearing of alarms.
• Site Document Management and Acceptance
• Alarm Clearance in order to hand sites over to Managed Services.
• Ensure As Build documents are completed correctly and submitted on time. In some cases prepare the As Builds.
• Any other adhoc duties required by the business

Desired Experience & QualificationSkill requirements:

• 3-5 years experience in optical transport network project
• Has been in charge of large scale related optical fiber project directly.
• Design / layout /implementation / delivery / fiber fusion / splice.
• Basic knowledge of Fiber optical Cable product family;
• Basic knowledge of the Fusion / Splice / Test work for optic fiber;
• Basic knowledge of POTN/GPON
• Basic knowledge about the fiber optical equipment.

• National Diploma in Engineering/Telecommunication or similar Telecommunications qualification
