An industry leader in digital transformation is currently seeking a Financial Manager who will be responsible for Shift DX and RFID Experts Africa’s strategic financial management, as well as driving financial performance, reporting, business analysis, budgeting, controls, and forecasting

 

 

 

Job Title: Financial Manager: Port Elizabeth (SH07)

Qualifications:
•B.Com degree with Accounting or articles with an auditing firm preferential.

Experience:
•5 years of broad-based financial management experience (post articles) in a relevant industry
•3-5 years of experience in a similar management capacity

•Strong computer literacy
•Knowledge of General Accounting Principles (GAAP)

•Knowledge of relevant financial legislation (Companies Act, etc)
•Knowledge of financial modelling, business risk management and company business planning and business management
principles
•Knowledge of Taxation (Company, Personal, VAT)

•Strategic and financial planning
•Basic understanding of organisational business processes and procedures
•Good knowledge of relevant organisational policies

MAIN ACTIVITIES OF THIS ROLE:
Financial Reporting:
•To prepare monthly consolidated financials for Shift DX and RFID-Experts Africa
•To prepare and finalise audited consolidated financial statements for Shift DX and RFID-Experts Africa.
•To review and sign-off monthly financial statements for Shift DX and RFID-Experts Africa before being released to head office
•To analyse and review financials and budgets/projections, and provide the executive head with appropriate comments
•To provide appropriate management information

Efficiency and financial improvement:
•To analyse financial performance and make appropriate recommendations concerning management decisions, resource
allocation, and business operations to allow for financial improvement.
•To perform due diligence on businesses
•To oversee cost management and to build financial models for valuation purposes
•To provide inputs on business valuations
•To keep complete due diligence records

Cash flow management and funding:
•To provide regular cash flow projections
•To implement policies and practices and to drive initiatives to optimise cash flows
•To minimise the financing costs of the division
•To manage approved projects funding for planned business activities

Due diligence:
•To perform due diligence on the business to be acquired
•To build financial models for valuation purposes
•To provide inputs on business valuations
•To keep complete due diligence records

Risk management and compliance:
•To ensure that appropriate controls are in place for the two business’s most critical risks
•To ensure that operations are run following legislation applicable to the business
•To oversee the management of foreign exchange and to ensure that appropriate policies are in place

Integration of newly acquired businesses:
•To initiate transaction flow
•To ensure that RFID-Experts Africa and Shift DX reporting requirements are adhered to
•To ensure that accounting policies and practices are in line with BKB’s /sound accounting practices.
•To ensure that company secretarial matters be taken care of
•To monitor financial assistance provided by BKB
•To perform a take-on risk assessment and initiate corrective actions, if any

Financial, tax, legal and other assistance:
•To provide financial and tax support to all subsidiaries
•To optimise the divisions tax expense and associated cash flows
•To assist subsidiaries with debt collection and legal action
•To engage with external auditors, tax experts, etc
•Provide key financial inputs into project decisions

Providing support to General Manager:
•To assist with the implementation of strategic initiatives
•To provide strategic inputs
•To perform business analysis and valuations
•To perform due business diligences
•To oversee the integration of newly acquired business
•To monitor and report on the performance of newly established business opppertunities and strategic initiatives

Trademarks/Company secretarial records:
•To manage the registration of new trademarks
•To maintain and protect existing trademarks
•To keep company secretarial records op to date

Leadership:
•Provide financial direction
•Identify and timeously address functional related problems and opportunities
•Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders
•Provide technical direction
•Ensure compliance with relevant legal and statutory requirements and internationally accepted environmental, health, safety and
quality standards
