We are a national Network Operator who physically constructs and maintains our own infrastructure in South Africa and a few African countries. We are looking for a networking engineer to assist with maintaining and growing our network. We provide any opportunities for growth and much training in an exciting career.

You will be trained in the career direction of Network engineering in a service provider environment.

You should please live within a reasonable distance from Rivonia and have your own transport – Our offices are in Rivonia
Salary is negotiable dependent on skills and experience

Job Title: Networking Engineer – Telecommunications
Location: Sandton

Job Summary:
Duties & Responsibilities:
Troubleshooting of network faults
Configuration of networking equipment
Configuration of wireless links
Solution scoping and design
Liaising with clients to acquire information about faults and confirm resolution

Desired Experience & Qualification:
Junior

Strong IT background Basic understanding / knowledge of networking
Knowledge of Mikrotik routers or Ubiquiti wireless links would be an advantage, but not essential
Any networking qualifications / certificates (N+, CCENT, CCNA, MTCNA etc.) would be an advantage, but not essential
Intermediate

Strong understanding and practical skills in routing, subnetting, OSI model, firewall etc.
Knowledge of Mikrotik routers or Ubiquiti wireless links would be an advantage, but not essential
Some networking qualification / certificates (CCNA, CCNP, MTCINE, MTCRE, JNCIA etc.)
3 year degree in computer science preferred
Senior

Extensive knowledge and practical experience within a service provider network environment
Expert knowledge and skills in BGP, OSPF, complex OSI model troubleshooting, MPLS
Knowledge of Mikrotik routers or Ubiquiti wireless links would be an advantage, but not essential
Advanced networking qualification (CCNP / CCIE / MTCINE)
3 year degree in computer science preferred
