Qualified Engineer sought by leading African Retailer. Our client has been providing South Africa with exceptional service and quality products for nearly 80 years.

This prestigious food, clothing, homeware and beauty shopping experience is firmly established as the industry leader in quality, sustainability and convenience.

They have led the way in ‘going green’, they send over 700 tons of plastic hangars for recycling annually, they use plastic crates for transportation of foods products, and even using 90% recycled material for their in-store shelving and much of their packaging.

Their largest, busiest Distribution Centre is in Centurion, and spans over 86,000sm.

This is a certified ‘Green Building’, and as such needs a committed team to ensure that the facilities run at 100% optimisation, and retains its certification.

They are looking to appoint the leader of the Facilities Team on Site.

This would be a qualified Engineer (Mechanical / Electrical) who is capable of running an Opex of R22million!

Due to the complex refrigeration and air-conditioning systems, it is imperative that the successful candidate is very familiar with gas and CO2 services.

Although there are only 3 direct reports to this role, there is a large contractor staff and contractor management component, as cleaning, security, catering, H&S and technical services all falls under their jurisdiction.

It therefore requires a competent leader who is able to plan and implement smooth running projects across a broad range of facilities services.

Financially aware, you will also be able to create your own annual budgets, as well as contributing to Capex budgeting and implementation.

To be considered for this demanding role you will have at least 5 years’ experience running a technical building facility, combined with a flexible attitude and nature as the DC services a retail environment and therefore operates 24/7.

R600 000 – R700 000 Per Month
