The role: Enterprise Account Manager

This is an opportunity to join a growing team of experienced, high achieving sales people in Google’s Enterprise Team covering Search and hosted Applications.

With Google Search Appliance you can deliver the same technology that powers Google’s award- winning search engine to corporations and government agencies in your local market. By putting our technology to work on corporate intranets, extranets and public websites the Google search appliance makes it quick and easy to connect employees, partners and customers to the information they need.

Google’s Apps offering is a suite of hosted, on-demand productivity and security solutions. Google Apps covers messaging, personal productivity & collaboration and messaging security/compliance and is hosted by Google, so there’s no hardware or software to download, install or maintain.

The Account Manager’s main role will be to develop and close sales of the Google Enterprise appliances and services in South Africa. You will develop new prospects and follow up on marketing and sales leads in order to deliver on quarterly quotas and achieve sales objectives for Google’s enterprise business. The Account Manager’s main role will be to develop and close sales of the Google Enterprise appliances and services in South Africa. You will develop new prospects and follow up on marketing and sales leads in order to deliver on quarterly quotas and achieve sales objectives for Google’s enterprise business.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Achieve quarterly sales quotas and generate and qualify all leads and sales opportunities
  • Make outbound calls to targeted customers and respond to inbound inquiries from marketing and lead generation programs
  • Serve as the primary customer contact during bid submission, pilot test, legal review, and procurement
  • Keep thorough records of customer interactions and provide quarterly sales projections on a weekly basis
  • Leverage Google sales engineering and marketing resources and provide input on current collateral materials and ideas on how to improve them

Job Requirements:

  • University degree, preferably in Computer Science, Business, Marketing or Communications
  • Proven track record of selling enterprise solutions in South Africa and preferably elsewhere in Europe
  • Goal oriented, self-motivated
  • Able to work independently, but within a team environment with a confident, competitive, thorough and tenacious attitude
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
