Networking Technical Pre-Sales Consultant (Public Sector)-1225694



Influences direct or indirect public sector business planning and drives the technical dimension of an opportunity to achieve the best HP partner solution that meets direct/indirect customer requirements while effectively differentiating HP recommendations from the competition, and while achieving financial and quota metrics with the HP Networking business. As a Technical Consultant, either independently or working with solution architects, may support multiple public sector accounts, leveraging specialized knowledge in HP Networking products, solutions, or vertical industry segments, to ensure that solutions accurately link to clients’ business challenges. Researches solution alternatives, provides initial configuration and sizing data, and designs products and solutions that are well targeted to meeting client business needs. Consults with account teams or partners on technical questions, and assists in advancing sales through communication of benchmarks and through orchestrating or direct execution of proof-of-concept walkthroughs, product demonstrations, and technical presentations. Contributes to selling effectiveness throughout the sales cycle, from aligning solutions with client needs to resolving customers’ (direct/indirect) concerns. Manages or conducts solution acceptance testing, and knowledge transfer to ensure a positive total customer (direct/indirect) experience (TCE).
Key responsibilities
Strong industry networking knowledge with indepth understanding of the HP Networking Portfolio
Ensures clear communication of technical benefits in proposals, responses to requests for information and all customer communications
Creates the annual technology roadmap for an account by driving client innovation programs and leveraging the ACT Roadmap Too
Provides technical direction to delivery on key transition and transformation initiative
Leads client level visioning sessions
Identifies, pursues, and wins breakthrough sales opportunities – that is, opportunities in areas where HP is not currently present within multiple accounts
Shared responsibilities
Drives the achievement of revenue quota within HP Networking
Works collaboratively across BUs to drive the cooperation and alignment essential for well-designed and delivered, converged solutions
Leverages product, technical, and industry segment knowledge to achieve wins across multiple accounts
Sizes opportunities from a technical perspective and develops compelling solution designs
Technologies / Industry knowledge requirements
HP Networking Portfolio (preferred)
4-6 Year Experience in:
Wide Area Networking Routing and Security
Local Area Networking Routing and Switching
Indoor wireless technologies
Network Management Systems with preference on Network automation
Unified Communications (Preferred Only)
Security (Preferred Only)
Strong experience in technical selling and solution positioning (3-5 Years’) experience in dealing with SITA / Public Sector within the networking domain
Technical University or Bachelor’s degree preferred
HP Accredited Systems Engineer in Networking or equivalent industry senior certification in competitive networking products / solutions
Typically 5-8 years’ experience in technical selling and/or consultative selling
