Position Overview A vacancy has arised for a Training Officer in Germiston, Gauteng – starting date: 1 August 2013 or ASAP. The Training Officer will be responsible to facilitate internal training in Gauteng and the Free State.
Remuneration:
This is a permanent position that offers a market related salary with discretionary benefits.

-The position may require overtime work from time to time
-The applicant needs to be able to work under pressure
-Extensive travel may be required
Specific Role Responsibilities The Training Officer is responsible to facilitate internal training across all levels of employment. These responsibilities include to:
– Assist with scheduling of training interventions and venues
– Facilitate learning
– Research and implement methods to enhance teaching and learning on a continuous basis
– Perform relevant administrative duties
– Capture results on Learning Management System
– Guide and support learners to competence
– Adapt, update and develop training materials and assessments
– Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet learners’ varying needs, abilities, and interests
– Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects and communicate said objectives to learners
– Prepare materials and classrooms for class activities
– Maintain accurate and complete learner records as required by legislation and company policies
– Compile training reports
– Conduct classes, workshops and demonstrations to teach principles, techniques, or methods
– Prepare and administer written, oral and performance assessments and issue results
– Observe and evaluate learners’ work to determine progress and make suggestions for improvement
Qualifications and Experience Suitable applicants must meet the following (minimum) requirements:
– Tertiary qualification in Education/Training or a relevant three-year degree with Education, Training and Development Practitioners (ETDP) qualification/Teaching certificate or diploma
– Minimum two years’ experience as a trainer/teacher/facilitator
– Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
– Good facilitation skills
– Have strong people skills including Human Resources (HR)/Industrial Relations (IR)
– Deadline oriented
Skills and Personal Attributes Recommended experience, knowledge and skills:
– Logistics and transport industry
– Warehousing
– Customer liaison
– Experience in the Fast-moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) environment would be advantageous
