Main Purpose of Job:

• To  plan and facilitate identified training and development interventions to ensure competency of all nursing staff.

Key responsibility areas:

• Develop the competence of all nursing staff
• Ensure the correct application of nursing procedures and policies
• Identify training  needs to guide the development of appropriate clinical training interventions
• Promote a culture of continuous professional development

REQUIRED EDUCATIONESSENTIAL EDUCATION:

• Degree/Diploma in General Nursing
• DESIRE EDUCATION: Nursing Education Diploma unit specific certificate or diploma where appropriate (e.g. Emergency Operating Theatre/Critical care unit)

REQUIRED EXPERIENCEESSENTIAL EDUCATION:

• Degree/Diploma in General nursing
• DESIRED EDUCATION: 1-2 years’ experience as peer mentor, 1-2 years experience as workplace assessor.

 

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Facilitation skills
• Assessment skills
• Infection prevention and control (IPC) principles and protocols
• Clinical risk management
• Nursing processes and procedures
• Computer literate (Microsoft)
• Continuous improvement and quality assurance methodologies
