Job Title: Senior IT Technician
Location: Boksburg

Job Summary:
Duties & Responsibilities:
Ensure day-to-day monitoring and performance of infrastructure components including servers, PCs, network, backups, and other infrastructure components at branches
Support the Microsoft Environments
Support the Google Workspace Environments
Support of in house Firewalls with ISP’s
Support and manage Network and IT security
Establish and manage relationships with external IT Support
Ensure optimal uptime of the IT infrastructure at all branches
Ensure proactive preventive maintenance of laptops and desktop computers.
Plan and manage hardware replacement lifecycle
Manage and support Windows Desktop and laptop Infrastructure
Manage and support Remote access and VPN for users
Manage and support all email services
Managed Switches, VoIP telephony, and CCTV systems
Ensure monitoring and management of UPS, and alternate power systems
Ensure procedure documents and training material is up to date
Ensure Asset registers are in place and up to date
Implementing new hardware, infrastructure components, and technologies
Compile monthly reports
Be available on standby for after-hours support when necessary
Effectively manage support calls on a daily basis by providing continual feedback and timeous resolutions

Desired Experience & Qualification:
Degree or 3-year diploma in Information Technology preferred
Internationally certified A+ and Network+
Internationally certified Microsoft Desktop and Server qualifications
Google Workspace Certifications advantageous
Skills Required
Minimum of 3 – 5 years in a IT support role with related experience
Solid experience in:
Microsoft software
Google Workspace
Firewalling and Network Configuration (WAN/LAN)
Anti-Virus/Ransomware, device encryption etc.
PABX, Voice and SIP product and setup
Project planning and implementation
Hardware, and software troubleshooting process. Ability to critically analyse a symptom, diagnose a fault, plan and take appropriate action on equipment including PCs, Laptops printers, and networking.
Knowledge of hardware components and hardware troubleshooting procedures
Knowledge of Microsoft desktop operating systems and desktop software
Complete knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, HTTP/s, FTP
Ability to work independently and in a team
Deadline driven and able to work under pressure
Excellent problem solving skills
Excellent planning and organisational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication

Remuneration/Package:
Basic Salary: R16 000 – R22 000
Company Medical Aid Contrubition 50% or up to R4000
Company Pension Fund Contrubtion 10.5% of Salary

CTC R24 000
