Vacancy Details

We are looking for a Construction Manager to plan and supervise a wide range of construction projects from start to finish. You will organize and oversee construction procedures and ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner. An excellent Construction Manager must be well-versed in all construction methodologies and procedures and able to coordinate a team of professionals of different disciplines to achieve the best results. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mind and great organizational skills. The goal will be to ensure all projects are delivered on time according to requirements and without exceeding the budget.

Candidate Requirements

 Construction Manager candidates should:

• Have construction repair/renovation management experience preferentially in pipeline works (sewer, water, or stormwater): 2 years (Required)
• Must have a Civil Engineering Degree (B.ENG or similar)
• Be effective at scheduling and multitasking.
• Have a strong knowledge of building details and products.
• Demonstrate leadership abilities, provide accurate direction for foreman and the project team.
• Have strong problem-solving skills. Be effective at conveying project problems and solutions to the project team and client.
• Possess the ability to provide cost and time effective solutions to project challenges.
• Provide ongoing quality control and quality assurance for all construction activities.
• Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Own Transport

 

Job duties will include, but will not be limited to:

• Providing direction to project foreman and project coordinator throughout the various stages of the project life cycle.
• Working collaboratively with clients, managers, and subcontractors to provide the highest quality construction project for the customer.
• Monitor labor hours and production to assure that projects are on time and on budget.
• Ensuring that all projects under their supervision are completed and closed out in a timely manner.
• Clear delegation of essential project duties to construction foreman, project coordinators and administrative staff.
• Send/manage/maintain project management documents and schedules including RFIs, Schedules, Contracts, Submittals, Punch-list, Change Orders and Warranties
• Process contractor requests for information, submittals, payment schedules, and change orders
• Obtain necessary permits
• Monetary management, including cost tracking, billings, and cash flows
• Manage contracts and issuance of work orders on construction projects
• Manage customer and vendor relationships and negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements.
