Opportunity Available!! Our leading client in the Automotive Sector is looking to employ a Chemical Engineer to join their dynamic team in Durban.

Job Description: 

• Ensure the Hull Cell testing is done daily as required, immediately reporting out of control situations.
• Help with trouble shooting and any problems encountered with the chemical process.
• Update all process charts and assist with Process work instructions.
• Keep all records up to date, including graphs.
• Maintain good housekeeping in all areas, consistently of all areas of the Plating plant.
• Adhere to safety rules and regulations, ensure you wear the required PPE.
• Ensure that TDS and MSDS files are updated.
• Control plant maintenance sheets by ensuring the filters are cleaned/ changed, rinse tanks dumped etc.
• Help with daily stock count when required.
• Supervise and help with any solution treatments, tank maintenance.
• Engage in Kaizen activities
• Assist group leaders with breakdowns if required
• Assist in PFMEA and Process control plan documents
• Contributing to process related corrective actions and G8D’s
• Help with coordination and running of new project parts.
• Help with the ordering of required chemicals or equipment.
• Reviewing quality problems, trouble shooting and implementing counter measures.
• Consistently adhere to the following:
  • All relevant safety and environment issues.
  • Maintenance and control of processes, chemical additions and adjustments.
  • Upkeep of charts and records
  • Stock control.
• Perform any reasonable task as required by Plant Management.

Job Requirements: 

• BSC in Chemical Engineering
• Plating plant experience, including chemical maintenance of electrolytes
• Experience with Plating on non-conductors will be an advantage.
• 3-5 years of experience
