Monitoring & Evaluation
SALARY : (Salary level 12) an inclusive remuneration package commencing at R630 822
per annum, comprising basic salary (70/76% of package), contribution to the
Government Employee Pension Fund (15% of basic salary) and a flexible portion

REQUIREMENTS : B Degree or equivalent in a Monitoring and Evaluation related field and vast
experience in the designing and implementing of qualitative and quantitative
M&E instruments, analysis of quantitative and qualitative data, monitoring and
evaluation of organisational performance, compilation of evaluation reports as
well as the quality assurance of M&E reports. Experience in the management of
Human and Financial resources and advanced experience in the MS Office
Suite. Knowledge: Requires considerable specialist theoretical and applied
knowledge in M&E; strong analytical techniques and demonstrated ability to
present analytical findings to lay audiences, good knowledge of statistics;
knowledge and experience in selecting and/or defining indicators, data collection
methods and reporting formats; familiarity with the Government wide M&E policy,
the National Evaluation Policy, the NDP and the PFMA. Competencies & skills:

evaluating best practices; exceptional written, organisational and verbal
communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; presentation and facilitation

DUTIES : To undertake the monitoring and evaluation of training interventions, workshops
and conferences offered and organised by the NSG. This entails the planning
and implementation of the monitoring of the NSG training interventions which
includes the capturing of all data relating to monitoring and evaluation activities;
the generation of reports on the data being captured, feedback provided to
management on any inconsistencies identified during the monitoring process and
the quality assurance of monitoring reports generated by the Training
Management System. Plan and implement the evaluation of the NSG training
interventions by designing instruments and project plans for the evaluation of
projects and programmes, conduct onsite evaluations of the NSG training
interventions, undertake application of learning studies of programmes, compile
evaluation reports and provide feedback in respect of findings to all stakeholders.
Provide M&E related services to internal and external stakeholders and ensure

that relationships with stakeholders are maintained. Support and improve M&E
processes within the NSG; provide strategic input at M&E related discussion
forums, task teams, seminars and workshops. Manage human resources in the
M&E sub-directorate. The successful candidates must be prepared to travel
extensively.
