A company that specializes in fuel measurement and management systems is in search of a Financial Director who can drive their ambitious growth plans in Africa and other international regions; The aim is to double the revenue in the next 3 years. The incumbent will work closely with the Managing Director and wider management team and will also involve the financial management of the business on a day-to-day basis, including the provision of commercial insight to support the company’s growth strategy. Another key function of the role will be to provide extensive knowledge and guidance regarding the globalization of the company.

The company is part of a private industrial management UK-based group with operations in Africa, Australia, the UK, and the USA. With several decades of experience, the company has built a solid reputation for delivering high-quality services and solutions to clients in various sectors. Applicants must have a proven track-record of generating growth and successfully managing a company’s financial strategy. The Company requires strong financial leadership to ensure complex business operations are optimised and accounted for correctly, opportunities to improve cost efficiency are identified, management of working capital is optimised, and reporting is on-time, accurate and insightful. A robust understanding of various revenue streams and costing methodologies is critical.

As Financial Director you will be responsible for:

• Developing and managing the financial strategy for the business in line with Group and business strategic targets, including the globalization of the company
• Preparation of monthly management accounts and trading reports
• Analysis of trading results and effectively analysing variances and reporting to Managing Director and Group CFO
• Preparation of annual financial statements and filing of audited accounts, including management of external auditors
• Preparation of financial planning information (budgets and forecasts) that show the short and long- term financial trajectory of the business
• Accurate and timely cash flow forecasting, and tight management of cash resources
• Monitoring and control of working capital, including stock levels, debtors and their ageing and accounts payable
• Preparation of high impact presentations for the Board, shareholder meetings and various Committees and custody of standard review templates for monthly performance, budgeting, and forecasting reviews
• Managing the business risk assessments, risk management, and mitigation thereof, including insurance
• Maintenance of a strong internal control environment to ensure robust stewardship is provided over the company’s assets and resources
• Responsibility for, and oversight of, all compliance, ethics and business practise processes and reporting

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• Registered CA(SA) is NON-NEGOTIABLE
• Minimum of 7 years’ commercial experience (out of Audit)
• Strong knowledge of project accounting and its application within IFRS
• Knowledge of challenges faced when trading with other African jurisdictions as well as other Global territories will be very advantageous
• Strategic thinker who can translate strategy into real business solutions and actions
