Outputs:
Maintain and perform safety tests, fault findings and repairs on all signalling with assigned geographical area in order to ensure reliability and availability of all systems.
Minimum Requirements
National Diploma (S4) Electrical Engineering (light current).
Be eligible for registration as an Engineering Technician with ECSA within 12 months of appointment.
3-5 years experience as an Engineering Technician in signaling.
Drivers license Code 08 (EB).
Other Requirements:
Candidates must be prepared to undergo and successfully pass a pre-employment Medical examination and be physically fit.
Key Performance Areas
Maintain and repair faults on signalling equipment.
Conduct inspections to identify potential failures and take necessary corrective action.
Conduct safety meetings, training and investigation.
Perform administrative duties.
Reports rail incidents and potential failures
Manage and supervise subordinates.
Carry out reasonable instructions from signals management
Comply with safety regulations
Perform various maintenances within signals department
SKILLS
Reporting Skills, Communication Skills, Interpersonal Skills, (Planning, Organising, Leading, Controlling Skills), Time Management Skills, Problem Solving Skills, Computer Literate, Ability to apply different data analysis techniques and tools, ability to read and interpret signalling plans.
