The client is looking for an experienced IT Infrastructure Manager who can join them on their mission of building a safer digital society for all. Someone who enjoys thinking their way out of a technical corner. The ideal candidate has extensive knowledge in Linux-based environments including cloud hosted and cloud-native architectures, a strong drive for automation with a focus on infrastructure and data security. Strategically you will be a key contributor, supporting both the Ethical Hacking team and their projects, as well as vital support functions such as Human Resources and Finance. You will have a significant impact on the day-to-day efficiency and overall growth of client.

 

 

 

 

Job Title: IT Infrastructure Manager (Cyber)
Location: Pretoria

Job Summary:
Duties & Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:

Maintain essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers (primarily cloud based), VPN’s and hardware. This includes internal systems, publicly facing assets as well as interesting hardware.

Manage, support, coordinate, and coach a small team of in-country IT support staff.

Manage and maintain cloud workloads and cost-effectiveness in AWS (and other cloud environments as needed).

Maintain and support Software-as-a-Service subscriptions and licensing such as GitHub, Mailgun, Duo and more.

Use Infrastructure-as-Code technologies to ensure infrastructure predictability and maintenance.

Research and evaluate emerging tech, software, and hardware.

Plan, research, schedule, and deliver on longer-term IT projects.

Handle the annual IT budget and ensure cost effectiveness.

Track and maintain software and hardware inventory and procurement.

Develop, maintain, and execute disaster recovery procedures as well as backups.

Maintain and review continuous security scans, remediate findings, and support annual external penetration tests.

Support and guide escalated IT support tickets.

Manage IT office equipment such as wireless access points, printers, etc. for all South African client offices.

Manage alignment with Central IT services and clients.

Skills and Experience:

Excellent Linux systems administration experience using a variety of Linux distributions.

Computer networking experience supporting Cloud Virtual Private Networks (IPv4 and IPv6), container networks (CNI) and or other network stacks both in a traditional LAN/WAN and a Cloud context.

Experience with infrastructure / configuration automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Packer etc.

Experience using Git for version control.

Experience in maintaining, building, and automating multi-account cloud environments using AWS.

Tenacity to work in a highly technical environment (often with some ambiguity), with a primarily technical staff complement to support.

Great scripting ability using languages such as Bash or Python.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Supervisory Requirements and Reporting Lines

The IT Infrastructure Manager reports to the CTO.

The IT Infrastructure Manager has a dotted reporting line to client Group IT.

The client IT team reports into the IT Infrastructure Manager.

Desired Experience & Qualification:
Education:

Information Technology / Information Systems related degree, and/or relevant experience.

Industry certifications, ideally for AWS.
