Umgeni Water: Graphic Design/ Layout Art

To provide specialist and creative input in the development of promotional material, presentations, business plans and proposals *To be the key resource for the formatting, layout and production of promotional material, presentations, business plans, proposals, Annual Report, internal hard copy magazines and pages for the Umgeni Water web site *Maintain high degree of quality control through self-proofing *Provide floating support to colleagues on various projects as required.

Key Responsibilities

Provide high quality and timeous response to all requests * Provide design, layout and formatting when required *Design graphics, presentations and layout documents in an aesthetically pleasing / professional format * Layout of articles, editorials and other material for publishing* Maintaining electronic copies of designed documents, graphics and other visuals in a database for re-use* Formatting and storing organisational information, including company profile* Maintain and update a database of photographic material* Assist with the physical compilation of documents* Twice weekly on all activities to CSMU Manager*Monthly report to CSMU Manager for inclusion in Board / EXCO packs* Provide appropriate information to feed into the annual budget process *Identify any or all costs within the area of functional responsibility.

Minimum Qualification,

Knowlege & Skills Three-year Graphic Design Diploma with a minimum of six (6) years’ experience *Proficiency in Page maker, Quark Express, Corel draw, Freehand, MS Office and Photoshop. The ability to design web site page, knowledge of the printing processes/printing industry, knowledge of and the ability to compile reports that encompass the tasks performed in this position; the ability to use cameras and simultaneously capture high-quality photographs for internal and external publication.
