Vacancy Details

Primary Role of the Position:

The primary role is to focus on the Human Capital wellbeing in the stores and support office. Including but not limited to the following areas: employee care and culture building, sourcing of employees for various roles, planning and carrying out training and development of the employees, addressing payroll processing and employee queries on an ad hoc basis. The role is based at the support office, but does require travel to all the stores from time to time to address matter, including of managing the compliance actions in forums at stores, conducting training in store environments, conducting of necessary employee consulting if required on queries and or interviews.

 

Key Performance Areas:
Human Relations Activities:

Managing of Human Resources Administration function with focus on: – Processing of all Management and Admin payroll information to payroll; – Onboarding and induction processes of Management and Admin placement; Actioning of employee queries, leave processing updates and employee relations matters for Management and Admin placement;
Responsible for all business units and Company HR responsibilities and decision making.
Policy drafting and Implementation.
SOP drafting and Implementation, in line with operational requirements, risk assessments and Compliance.
Talent Management (Sourcing, Organisation Design and Development):
Recruitment of key critical roles, admin & management level roles and Manco related roles at support office and stores;
Management of end-to-end process of talent management (Drafting requirements, sourcing, screening, scanning and final decision-making process of comparability with panel decisions).
Drafting of all employment contracts and requisitions for the placement, including of the salary comparison inline of store job levels;
Market salary comparison and package offering, in line with market related positions.
Implementation of Management Development processes from succession identification, management, monitoring and follow through and the entire management development program.
Internal review of the various store management for suitability in their roles, including making proposals on best fit options for internal moves of growth and succession development, to the managing director.
Regulated requirements and Legal Compliance processes for Company Compliance

 

Maintaining and managing all compliance for the company with regards to:

– Employment Equity; – Skills Development.
Ensuring annual submissions for Employment Equity and Skills development are timeously done, including of meetings with committee’s and Compliance requirements of management approvals. Additionally, also require checking and ensure requirements for letter of compliance from Dept of Labour.

 

Training and Development:

Design and review of annual training matrix for entire business.
Drafting training material, setting out training guidelines and management of the training, including presentation of the training modules.
Training of staff, including the Assessment of skills and training requirement determination, in line with annual training budget requirements for annual training plan.
Ensuring review of employee’s skills from PM reviews and implementing skills development processes.
Management of all external training provider planning and scheduling, including quotation process.
Draft plans implement proposals and management of execution of Learnership and Apprenticeship programs for technical and National Professional Driver learnerships.
Management of unemployed and disabled learnership programs, for skills development and EE requirements

 

Employee Relations:

Overseeing that the Disciplinary processes are followed, with updating of the Disciplinary Code, Policies and ensuring compliance.
Implementation and management of people performance reviews and improvement plans.
Set up and manage induction and settling in reviews of new starters.
Implementing of and Counselling of employees for performance and corrective improvement measures.
Performance and Counselling Management of employees within all sectors.

 

General Ad-hoc:

Implementation of a formal HR & Training & Development Strategy.
Culture and Climate Development with Analysis Surveys & Implemented Organizational Structure Designs.
Setting up and managing of employee systems and learning channels for effective learning in stores (e-learning interventions).
Monthly transaction of invoice payments for recruitment fees.
Processing of annual license fees and follow up of renewals.
Reviewing of IOD claims and addressing concerns on the IOD cases and processing.

 

Candidate Requirements

  • Relevant HR qualification
  • HR Generalist experience at Group level
  • Retail/Wholesale background preferred
  • Willing to travel:  Would be required to travel to stores (12 entities in 6 provinces) for HR related activities.
