Purpose of the Job

Support the development and implementation of the company IT strategy (encompassing processes, technology and organizational) through managing the evolution and transition of the enterprise architecture in response to changing business demand.

Ensure business and IT strategy alignment.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

1.Process Architecture

•Review, enhance and continuously improve departmental end‐to‐end business processes

•Govern departmental processes and drive compliance

•Govern the flow of information to achieve coordinated exchange and storage of technical information and documents at dept level

•Review, simplify and improve customer applications/services and internal business process and (business logic and rules etc) for customer

experience and business process improvement

•Align application and systems process with business processes and drive achievement of target KPI’s.

•Ensure alignment of IT architecture model and practices to industry standards and frameworks

2.Application architecture

•Develop application structure and coding standards, transactional and error logging standards, exception

•Handling standards to guide internal application development

•Provide technical leadership, guidance and support in the deployment of complex applications in

distributed computing systems.

3.Data Architecture.

•Develop a master data management strategy (governance and process) to be adopted and implemented within all IT systems and domains

•Define the function of a master data hub (e.g. contains data business rules and policy management for customer, product data, price‐plan structure, commissions data etc) and govern the flow of systems data.

•Govern the development of a transactional data architecture model (e.g. customer and product data

hub/CID) in the Enterprise Integration domain in line with the master data management (MDM) strategy

•Guide the development of the enterprise data warehouse and data loading and extraction process (e.g. using the customer and product data

hub/CID) in the MIS domain in line with the master data management (MDM) strategy.

•Govern access to data source systems by all IT systems e.g. Commissions and ERP (all data access for queries and updates to be validated

through a data hub. No direct interfaces to source systems )

•Develop a data consolidation, de‐duplication and clean‐up plan as required for data migration (e.g.

required for the IT GTM technology strategy implementation)

•Develop a data synchronization process for ongoing and data integrity and maintenance.

4.Integration Architecture

•Develop and implement an enterprise integration strategy

•Inform the technology and vendor selection of the integration architecture solution

•Plan and guide the implementation of SOA architecture and services

•Develop a capacity planning model for the enterprise integration architecture

•Guide the performance tuning exercise for the integration architecture

•Achieve target KPIs for the integration architecture.

5.Infrastructure Planning and Management

•Unix, Wintel and Storage systems planning, capacity planning and infrastructure lifecycle management

•Environment planning for development, testing and production (DEV, PPD, PRD)

•Develop technical specifications for network and IT network and service management solutions (OSS).

6.Health and Safety Compliance

•Conform and adhere to Safety, Health and Environmental legislative requirements

•Report any health and safety concerns/incidents in the workplace to the manager / health and safety representative.

•Assist Cell C to establish and maintain a fully compliant Healthy and Safe Work Environment.

•Attend the Safety, Health and Environmental workshops as required by management.

7.Perform any other related duties as requested by Management.

Skills & Experience

•Experience in research and assessment of NGN technologies.

•3 + years experience in integration new technologies to existing IT architecture.

•Experience of the product and software life cycles in a commercial environment.

•Experience in application of different methods and techniques to ensure effective evaluation of new technologies.

Educational Requirements

B.Sc / B. Eng / B. Tech or related qualification.

Added Advantage

B.Com or related business qualification, with (preferred) specialization in business information systems, (preferred) systems architecture, (preferred) business strategy, technology management or CRM
