ShowMax seeks to appoint a pro-active and dedicated individual to assume responsibility as Finance manager responsible for content and revenue. The successful candidate will form part of the finance function, reporting to the CFO and Content GM and will be based in our Johannesburg office.

Prepare annual content and operational budgets for the company.
Liaise closely with content department, in respect of the presented budgets, to assist them in finalizing their budget documents.
Manage monthly amortization of content, including operational budgets (I/S, B/S & Cash Flow):
Inform the relevant stakeholders should there be significant variances so they can adjust accordingly.
Liaise with Content as to the reason for the significant variances.
Prepare monthly cost centre reallocation journals.
Manage audit year-end and interim related queries.
Instruct the relevant stakeholders of any budgetary changes required by Finance.
Ensure that any required budgetary changes are made.
Create 10 year rolling budget and forecasts.
Prepare budget forecasts and analysis of the content budget and inventory.
Monitor changes on content management system and content inventory in terms of the budget.
Support Content acquisitions with the preparation of offer analysis including budget impact and scenario analysis.
Review agreements with partners to ensure proper accounting treatment of revenue
Review and sign-off on bank reconciliations on revenue account
Involvement in forecasting and budgeting of revenue
Provide commentary on budget variances
2. System and Process Implementation Content:
Assist in the development and implementation of the content management system.
Assist in the development and implementation of systems and process workflows.
3. Analysis Content:
Analyse the effect of the content strategies.
Analyse the effect of the acquisitions of independent and studio output content, including the production of original content.
Assist with maximizing content inventory allowing for various viewer consumption trends.
Analyse other ad-hoc projects
Provide commentary on variances compared to budget and forecasts
Analyse trends in subscriber numbers and the impact on revenue
Draft analysis and presentations for ad-hoc and strategic initiatives.
Any additional tasks allocated / required by business.
KNOWLEDGE / QUALIFICATIONS
A relevant post graduate degree CA (SA) is essential
Prior media experience will be an advantage
Strong knowledge of and a passion for TV is essential
Advanced computer literacy (PowerPoint, Excel etc.) is essential
Negotiations experience will be an advantage
Financial management and strategic planning is essential
Prior experience of presentations will be an advantage
