Outputs

• Advise relevant parties such as Group company directors and executives with regards to corporate governance developments
• Advise on, and ensure adherence to, legislation applicable to the company and the Group
• Advise on IP related queries
• Assist with corporate and commercial transactions
• Negotiate and draft various agreements (i.e. entertainment law agreements, commercial agreements, IT Agreements, IP Agreements)
• Actively manage litigation arising in the businesses
• Manage the company’s contract database
• Assist with overseeing the management and administration of the company’s trademark and domain name portfolios
• Manage and liaise with external parties (including outside attorneys)
• Assist with the implementation and management of the company’s legal compliance programme
• Conduct training on pieces of legislation impacting the company’s business

 

Education & Experience

• Must an LLB Degree
• Must be an admitted attorney
• At least 3 years post articles experience
• Must have extensive contract drafting and negotiation experience, preferably in the areas of entertainment law/media law/IP law
• Knowledge of intellectual property law, media law and entertainment law would be advantageous
• Must have knowledge of relevant legislation
• Good knowledge and experience in the television/broadcasting industry would be an advantage
• Financial knowledge and understanding would be an advantage
• Must have computer skills
