BancABC has a proud heritage dating back to 1956. BancABC, previously known as African Banking Corporation, rebranded in April 2009, in line with its expansion into retail banking. BancABC’s will be opening retail banking operations across all territories by the end of 2010.

They are currently seeking for an IT security specialist.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Collaborate with the information risk group and audit group to identify, prioritise and respond to risk components, technology audits and compliance issues respectively for the technology organisation.

Develop and standardise processes and procedures relating to risk and control across the technology organisation ensuring control policies are executed upon in accordance with corporate-wide policies and external regulatory obligations.

Monitor action plans that are developed and executed to address any non-compliance with policy requirements. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the timely and efficient restoration / recovery of all systems in the event of natural or man-made disasters.

MAIN FOCUS AREAS

Effectively communicate relevant architecture and design information to superiors and peers at BancABC.

Effectively articulate the Security vulnerabilities to a level where business decision makers are able to understand these and make informed decisions to achieve the appropriate risk mitigation

Work across country boundaries to share lessons learned and best practices.

Management and Leadership

Develop a compelling, shared security vision for the team.

Ensure that appropriate training is available for technical teams.

Ensure that the team is clear on security goals and objectives.

Conduct security review meetings.

Drive and manage security project schedules.

Coordinate with outsourced engineering services, as appropriate.

Report on scheduled and product progress, related to security, on a weekly basis.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE

Post high school qualification

A degree in Computer Science or related

Technology knowledge and experience

Minimum of 7-10 years software security architecture and engineering required

Appropriate security certifications, such as CISSP (ISC) 2, MCSA/MCSE: Security (Microsoft), CCSP, (Cisco) and/or certifications from vendors.

EXPERIENCE

Experience with security architecture related to protocols such as SNMP, HTTP, SOAP, SOA, Web Services.

Experience with secure coding practices, thread modelling, vulnerability assessment.

Experience with network and server security, including firewalls, VPN, Anti-Virus, Patch Management.
