BDO South Africa has a vacancy for a Tenders Manager to join our Business Development Department.

 

 

Job Title: Tenders Manager

Specification
The main responsibility for the Tenders Manager is the development, performance and maintenance of the tender process activities of the organisation to obtain maximum efficiency, quality, service and profitability for the organisation.

•Develops the bid and tender strategy
•Assemble and maintain internal Procurement documentation relating to the tendering process, including recording management approval relating to tendering and contracting actions.
•Establish market-leading bid/tender/proposal strategies/tools/methodologies that gain buy-in from the business
•Lead the bid team to deliver consistently high-quality bids
•Work with stakeholders to convert bid strategies into compliant, winning bids for learning and development solutions
•Effectively manage the performance and development of all direct reports
•Establish effective reporting and analyse performance metrics for the function
•Develop innovative ways to convey the propositions to the clients
•Research, Monitor and report on market/competitor activity
•Develop and maintain company-wide awareness and knowledge
•Scope opportunities to understand the client needs and ensure our proposition is relevant and persuasive
•Provide guidance on messaging that meets the needs of the RFP, is compelling and supports the BDO brand
•Provide editorial guidance and eagle-eye proofreading of pitch documents
•Coach and challenge bid team throughout presentation rehearsals on messaging, style and approach
•Conduct debriefs and organise independent debriefs, collate and analyse the feedback to identify strengths and areas for improvement
•Participate in professional development activities and external peer networks to stay up to date with trends and to be aware of new ways of doing things
•Share best practice/provide training to client-facing teams
•Monitor and report on pitch success
•Develop an effective operating rhythm with the Design & Print team to optimise available resources and avoid bottlenecks
•Provide oversight to pre-tender desk research and analyse information to provide useful insight for teams at the first stage of the process
•Lead on the production of high-quality pitch documents and presentations, liaising with all parts of the business.
•Collate proposal information
•Preparing analysis reports for review by BD director
•KAM management reports for implementation
•Reports on the Vision 23 progress and campaigns
•Preparing pipeline reports.
•Updating the log of proposals won, lost and open.
•Monthly clean-up of CRM logs
•Follow up on long outstanding proposals
•Keep a log of all lost proposals including the reasons for the losses.
•Upkeep of latest Proposal best practice
•Upkeep of the BD hub.

 

Qualifications:
•Degree or Diploma at a South African accredited Institution

Experience:
• Working with the CRM system
• Collating tenders and understanding of SBD documents
• Analysing and interpretation Budgets for proposal purposes
