Product Definition and Business Iteration:
Articulate the overall vision and priorities for the product.
Engage and work closely with Product Managers and key business stakeholders to understand business requirements and decompose them into user stories.
Be able to prioritize work when presented with a variety of conflicting goals and opinions.
Provide backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user stories
Responsible for making trade-offs between features and effort in order to maximize the value of the product and the work of the Development Team.
Utilize a burndown chart and use it to predict the progress of the team in order to make good priority decisions and to communicate progress to stakeholders.
Approve or accept completed work (or gains sign-off by others) upon completion of acceptance criteria that has been previously agreed upon.
Responsible for translating weekly Scrum report for broader audiences.
Manage the backlog for sprint and release planning post-development startthrough QA.
Ensures that features developed for the product meet key business initiatives.

Stakeholder Engagement:
Serves as a conduit carrying communications to and from the Scrum team and acting as liaison with upper management and other departments that have a bearing on the project’s success.
Managing stakeholder expectations.
Understand the user, and this means understanding approaches and technologies for learning about the user. These include user interviews, surveys, design studios, and other user experience design approaches.
Build relationships with users and stakeholders to understand their business areas and help to develop product roadmaps and strategies.
Enhance the profile of the workstream and scrum team internally, by building strong relationships with stakeholders across the business
Be an advocate of agile delivery – within team and wider organization

Leadership:
Transitions team’s skill-set with the support of the Human Capital Business
Partner to enable and support platform and tool adoption per the departmental road-map in line with strategies defined with CTO.
Through effective inspirational leadership, facilitate the creation of accountable, full service teams who understand and strive to meet the needs of all stakeholders.
Role model behavior and motivate team members in line with the core values.
Take full responsibility for performance of all direct reports, motivating and managing them in relation to quality standards and agreed benchmarks and objectives, focusing on all aspects of sound people management.
Provide support and guidance on career path planning, on-the-job training, coaching and mentoring to direct reports

EDUCATION:

Matric
Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science or related discipline

EXPERIENCE:

Knowledge and experience in Product Management/Ownership
Minimum of 5 years of combined experience in project management, product management, product development, and/or product ownership
