To deliver IT application support activities including operations, maintenance, administration, and 1st / 2nd line support to all EPPF users by ensuring timely and efficient resolution of IT application-related incidents and service requests/projects.

1.PARTAKE IN INCIDENT MANAGEMENT
•Resolve all application related incidents – either personally (1st line) or by overseeing service providers (2nd line), in accordance with SLA agreements, standards and procedures.
•Execution of 1st line and 2nd line IT applications support in line with standards and procedures.
•Identify problems and trends, review incident trends and history, and consolidate for problem management purposes.
•Act as the super user for core EPPF applications.
2. APPLICATION TESTING, INTEGRATION AND TRAINING
•Coordinate user acceptance testing as well as integration testing of applications into the existing/new environment.
•Perform end to end application quality assurance function and build test cases to for use in application changes.
•Provide user training on the application (existing and new functionalities).
3. ENSURE APPLICATION SUSTAINABILITY AND SECURITY
•Support users with application security incidents, including user ID setup, passwords and access.
•Minimise avoidable security incidents resulting from support activities.
•Execute activities aimed at ensuring network integrity, including backups, anti-virus and patch deployment.
•Deliver IT support activities and ensure that they are executed in a manner which implements security and network policies.
•Take corrective action where non-compliance to application policies are identified and escalate where necessary.
•Review current access profiles (authorisations, passwords, permissions etc.) periodically to ensure adherence with EPPF policies.
•Ensure the alignment of EPPF infrastructure and applications with IT policy.
4. MANAGE ITC ASSETS
•Periodically assess the need to renew applications licenses, and the processes involved thereof.
•Execute assess refreshment according to plans.
•Assist in the review of requests for new ICT infrastructure and software.
5. ENGAGE IN IT SERVICE DELIVERY
•Work alongside 2nd line application support suppliers (e.g. Internet Solutions and T-Systems) to ensure customer support and that EPPF’s service requirements are met.
•Manage personal performance as well as the performance of service providers and implement corrective actions if necessary.
•Ensure the resolution of all allocated calls against the agreed SLA’s,
•Contribute to projects as subject matter expert.
•Facilitate the achievement of objectives on smaller projects, as allocated.
•National Diploma: IT /BSc Degree Computer Science or equivalent qualification.
•At least 5 years’ experience in an Application support role.
•Demonstrated experience in supporting either infrastructure or applications.
•Deep expertise of the EPPF application environment.
•Understanding of Service Level Agreements.
•Some knowledge of Cobit and /or ITIL.
•Strong knowledge of application & infrastructure architecture and security as well as application testing methodologies.
