We have a position available for an ICT Manager in the Pietermaitzburg, KZN area.
Job Title: ICT Manager
Developing and maintaining an effective and secure ICT infrastructure. Ensuring that company information is kept in a secure and well-structured manner that promotes ease of use and mitigates data security and disaster risks. Ensuring the effective development and deployment of strategic business information systems to enhance user work efficiency and eliminate risk.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Assessing medium term ICT infrastructure requirements, developing a roll out plan and budget thereto and project managing the various elements of implementation.
Evaluating potential ICT risks and developing cost effective mitigation strategies, budgets and project managing the various elements of implementation.
Evaluate ICT training needs and present viable training solutions to HR.
Project management of strategic ICT projects (development and operations ie “DevOps”).
Provide Inputs for Strategic Planning purposes.
Prepare and present ICT Budgets
Analysis of business Processes to propose control and efficiency measures.
Embrace and drive the deployment of the People Journey within the company.
Embrace and drive the deployment of the Company’s Management System.
Day-to-day management of the ICT Team.
Oversee the management of the ICT Asset register to ensure that assets are tracked.
Provide input for insurance of ICT assets
Monitor data backup in accordance with retention policies.
Ensuring smooth take-on and standardisation of ‘new’ users and secure removal of ones that leave the organisation.
Oversee planned and unplanned maintenance and support activities
Monitor performance and capacity of key infrastructure resources.
Auditing ICT systems to understand risks.
Planning and delegating ICT resources.
Report on ICT Projects status
Manage ICT Spend
Management of the Relationship and service delivery from external service providers
Review of Telecommunications costs and budgets and propose structure changes and cost-efficient methods.
Deliver Ad-Hoc small ICT solutions / tools expected of a person of this skillset.
Desired Experience & Qualification:
Technical skills and specialist knowledge:
Suitable candidate will have degree in Computer Science or similar with proven experience in an ICT management capacity (+5yrs).
Working knowledge and experience of DevOps (development/project management/active team participation) within the Microsoft Technology Stack, particularly some/all of the following:
SharePoint On Premise / Online
+5 years’ experience in an ICT management capacity
Experience in management of a small/medium sized ICT Team
Experience in managing stakeholder relationships with managed service providers, hardware and software vendors, consultants, and internal ICT resources
Experience in Management of Personnel
Grade 12 (Critical)
A degree in Computer Science or similar qualification
Package & Remuneration:
R40 000 – R50 000
