Job Title: ESTIMATOR
Location: Edenvale, Gauteng, South Africa

Job Summary:

This position exists to estimate, and optimally manage operational and / or project cost within given parameters, specifically related to production, quality control, and plant efficiency & client relations to achieve contract objectives.

Cost Planning and Management:

Tender Pricing & Reviews.

Tender Compilation and Coordination.

Contract Performance Reviews.

Escalation Calculations and Management.

Contract Change Evaluation & Pricing.

Review of Contract Extra Reporting.

Contract Management:

Peruse and price tenders for new work.

Implement and manage the contract.

Liaise with client representative regarding overall plant performance and quality standards.

Manage contract costs within volumes, quality and other specifications relevant to the project / operation.

Advice senior manager of any scope changes and commercial challenges.

Administration:

Generate reports regarding tender progress, escalation status, contract reviews and scope changes.

Ensures all Administration duties are performed to Company standards.

Knowledge Management

Mentoring of Quantity Surveyors and Operational Managers.

Documentation of lessons learned from past successes and / or failures.
Requirements

Qualifications:

B-Degree in Engineering / Construction / Quantity Surveying or an equivalent qualification

Experience:

Over 20 years’ experience in estimating and quantity surveying related to Tailings / Mining / Construction field
