The Durban ICC is calling for suitable candidates to apply for the position of Demi Chef (Graduate).

The incumbent will be required to provide professional, direct, hands-on approach in the kitchen to insure all food is cooked and presented at the highest standard.

The incumbent will report directly to the Executive Chef or appointed representative.

The purpose of this job is work in every area of the kitchen.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A suitable tertiary qualification (NQF Level 4)

Experience and knowledge required

  • Must have graduated in the last 24 months
  • Knowledge of HACCP and ISO systems essential
  • Knowledge in the cook — chill system is preferable
  • Strong communication skills in English language both verbal and written is essential
  • Work experience a 5 Star establishment is essential

KEY PERFORMANCE / MAIN ACTIVITIES OF THIS ROLE

  • Maintaining and complying to HACCP and ISO standards
  • Support Chef de Partie in menu planning
  • Stock control and flow
  • Delivery a 5* service and experience to the client
